Rousing the dogs with song

We have a nighttime routine that includes singing a hymn or Primary song before family prayer.  Before we get to that, we read from the Book of Mormon.  While we read, the dogs are sitting nearby and are usually half asleep.

When we start to sing, the dogs are suddenly wide awake and can hardly stand still!  They don't seem to understand that the point of the song is to create a feeling of reverence.  It's hard to kneel and stay upright when a dog is jumping on you!

  1. Maybe, the dogs are trying to tell you that they prefer jazz.
